We are a 21st Century New Generation School that is known to provide contemporary, practical, flexible and ever evolving learning programme to awaken unique traits in each student so that he/she is able to strive to attain the highest potential in a secure, well supported and all-inclusive learning environment, but still we are rooted to our tradition, culture, heritage and in the process never forgetting our moral and ethical values. We believe in creating a balance and harmony between the traditional and modern approach to education. All this is done at an affordable cost so that parents do not feel the pinch.

The seed of this ‘Temple of Learning’ was sown in 1996, when Doon Public School had a humble beginning as a Middle School. soon enough, in the year 2000 it got the NOC from the State Government for keeping up with its missionary zeal and progressive outlook. Thereafter, in the year 2002, it rose to the level of being a CBSE-affiliated Sec. School. Uninterrupted forward march led to its becoming a Senior Secondary School in 2012. CBSE too recognized our zeal to march and progress in a sound manner and therefore gave us the tag “A New Generation Sr. Secondary School” in 2016-17. We have been ranked amongst the top ten schools of not only Panchkula and Haryana but also all over India as per the survey conducted by three different agencies,in the last 4 years.

The school is located in Sector-21, Panchkula in the vicinity of the Shivalik Hills and beautiful surroundings. The beautiful campus has two separate blocks surrounded by lush green manicured lawns and beautiful flowers. It is a gateway to the temple of learning and knowledge. Chandigarh is just 7 km away, while Pinjore and Zirakpur are only at a distance of 5 km. Ambala-Kalka-Shimla highway is just at a stone’s throw distance.

"Lead Kindly Light" is the motto of the school. It is a phrase of the first line of an ever-inspiring poem, penned down by Cardinal Henry Newman (1801-90). Keeping the spirit of Newman, we believe that the soul of a human is continuously unfolding itself. Its final manifestation is very distant. What man can do is to take one step at a time and that, too, with the benevolent and illuminating assistance of God.
Rendering of enlightened leadership being a major component of our motto, we don't stick to obsolete ways. Ours is an ever-widening horizon, embracing the eternal past, the refreshing present and the alluring future. We believe that there is no escape from such synthesis.
