CBSE Expression Series (National War Memorial)
*International Yoga Day* is observed every year on June 21 to raise awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual powers that yoga has brought to the world. Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice. It plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people's immune systems. Yoga encourages people to remain active and have a balanced state of mind. *Doon Public School, Panchkula* celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm before the summer vacation. A special assembly on the theme *' Benefits of Yoga'* was conducted for the students of classes 6 to 12, wherein the *'INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY*' was celebrated zestfully. The students discussed the importance of yoga and also exhibited yoga postures. They later presented beautifully designed posters depicting the benefits of yoga and promised to practice this activity in their daily lives. A quiz on yoga was conducted for the children in their respective classes. Pranayam and different asanas were also practiced. The Mass Surya Namaskar Display and the Clay Modelling activity were also conducted for the students. They found these activities and quizzes very informative. The Physical Education Department organized a special workshop for the teachers to promote yoga in their daily life.

A variety of workouts on Soil Conservation was held in addition to a presentation meant for the students. The program culminated with the anthem on soil conservation. Principal, Ms Sunita Anand in her address thanked the Isha Foundation for providing an enlightening experience for the students.

India is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Independence, as a part of the year-long celebrations poster making competition and speech competition with the theme 'Freedom Fighters of India' was conducted to apprise students with the freedom struggle.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY AT DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students and teachers at Doon Public School, Panchkula through an online platform with great enthusiasm. An online workshop was organised for parents, students and teachers as well where many yoga exercises were performed such as Surya Namaskar followed by a series of pranayama, importance of these were explained simultaneously. An online quiz competition on Yoga was also organised for the students of grade VI to XII in which all the students participated with a high spirit. Students were encouraged to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration. Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life, physically, mentally and spiritually as well.
*Doon Public School organises Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsay- Logo Design Contest* In order to carry out the celebration of 75 years of Indian Independence: Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, Doon Public School initiated all its stakeholders, to participate in logo design contest on the MY Gov portal. The theme for logo designing was governance, technology, development, reform, progress or policy.
Doon Public School organised Storytelling Competition on Stories of Human Interest Adhering to the guidelines issued by the CBSE, Doon Public School conducted Story telling Competition on the themes related to human interest such as innovation, sacrifice, going beyond the call of duty, challenges faced and creatively solved, humour, finding joy in adversity etc. This activity was conducted in classes III to IX and XI. The best stories were shortlisted and submitted to the CBSE. Participation Certificates were generated (only for the shortlisted students).
Doon Public School observed International Women's Day- 2021!! To celebrate the elegance of womanhood and achievements of women, Doon Public School, in compliance with the CBSE guidelines, celebrated International Women's Day today i.e March 8, 2021. Awards and recognitions were rendered to the women faculty members for their outstanding contributions in the literary field of writing and poetry. The exceptional girl achievers of the school were rewarded certificates and cash prize by the Haryana Government, for contributing tremendously in the varied fields like academics, sports, dance, music and art. The School Principal highly applauded the efforts of the young girl achievers and blessed them with her beautiful words, “Let your unique awesomeness and positive energy inspire confidence in others.â€
Doon Public School advocates PM Modi's launch of PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA â–ªAdhering to the initiative taken by our Hon'ble Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, Doon Public School carried on the unique program launched by him- Pariksha Pe Charcha. â–ªThe main motive behind carrying on this program was to rule out the examination stress from amongst the students, who had already been going through the mental turmoil due to the untimely changes and the challenges of those unprecedented times of Pandemic, all through the year. â–ªDuring this campaign, the students were morally boosted and encouraged by their teachers through healthy discourses, quizes, fun based questionnaire, through getting valuable tips for appearing in the examinations etc. â–ªNot only this, the school Principal, Mrs. Sunita Anand, conducted a webinar for the parents, to motivate the students as well as the parents, for the Annual Examination for the session 2020-21. The sweeping changes in the education system to be brought as a result of New Education Policy, were apprised to the parents. â–ªThe program aimed at ruling out the fear of examination from amongst the students and to prepare them to treat the examination time more like a Festival or an Utsav, as stated by Hon'ble PM.
Doon Public School observed National Science Day!! Adhering to the guidelines issued by the CBSE under the Ministry of Education, government of India, Doon Public School observed National Science Day on February 28, 2021, in the classes VI- XII. The Science Faculty of the school zealously supported the celebration of the above said day by organising lectures, demonstrations, quizzes, debates etc. both Offline as well as Virtually. The objective behind celebrating the National Science Day was to enlighten the youth about contributions made by Dr. CV Raman towards science & technology and to inspire them to tread his path. The celebration provided a great opportunity and exposure to the scientific minded students.
INNOVATIVE COMPETITIONS BY CBSE, HELD ONLINE AT DOON Abiding by the CBSE guidelines to launch Expression Series on the theme- Students' Perspectives on Teaching & Learning, Doon Public School organized varied Online competitions viz: Essay/Paragraph writing, Poetry Composition, Drawing/Painting and Slogan Writing in the month of February 2021; with a vision to promote 21st century skills. More than 600 students, from varied class categories, zealously participated in these undertakings, exhibiting their flamboyant spirits.
DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL OBSERVED MATRABHASHA DIWAS!! Adhering to the declaration made by UNESCO, regarding observance of Mother Language Day, DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL, in association with CBSE, observed Matrabhasha Diwas, on February 21, 2021, to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. The main idea behind this was to promote dissemination of Mother Language of all and to create awareness amongst the masses, regarding varied linguistic and cultural traditions. The school effectively contributed to the cause by wisely spreading the awareness about Multilingualism among the students, teachers and other stakeholders.
Observance of Road Safety Month DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL in association with Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, observed Road Safety Month, from 18th January 2021 to 17th February, 2021 on the theme 'SADAK SURAKSHA JEEVAN RAKSHA'. The school contributed to the cause by taking up varied Online Activities to promote the concept and be a part of the advocacy campaign for road safety. Adhering to the guidelines issued by the CBSE, Virtual Activities such as- Story- telling, Poster making/ Slogan Writing, Poem Recitation and Poetry writing etc. were organized for the students. The entire month was consumed in spreading the awareness amongst the masses.
DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL ORGANISES FIT INDIA WEEK Adhering to the nation wide guidelines issued by our Hon’ble Prime Minister regarding “Fit India Movement†Doon Public School has been celebrating Fit India School Week from December 18, 2020 to December 25, 2020, in order to inculcate physical activity and sports in the daily routines of the students. Virtual Assemblies are being held for the students, involving fun and fitness session with freehand Exercises, Power and fitness sessions with Aerobics and yoga. Yoga week is also being observed by the teachers during which all the teaching/non-teaching faculty including the school Principal, has been actively taking part in the fitness program.
DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL celebrated the Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Divas', on 26th November 2020, Online, to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. To reiterate the values and principles enshrined in the constitution, all the staff members, teachers and students of Classes V to XII zealously took the ' Preamble Pledge', thus reaffirming their commitment to uphold the ideology and principles of constitution. Indian Constitution is one of the lengthiest and the living documents (open to amendments) of the world.
DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL commemorates National Education Day 11th November marks the birth anniversary of our first education minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad which is celebrated every year as National Education Day, through out the country . To commemorate National Education Day, Doon Public School organized Virtual essay writing competition, elocution, poster making, speeches and slogan writing competition on the theme- Importance of Education. The students zealously exhibited their skills and were highly appreciated by the teachers and the Principal of the school.
DOONITES take the National Unity Oath DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL commemorates the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on the National Unity Day, on October 31. The school has always stood exemplary in inculcating the spirits of Solidarity and National Integration amongst all, thus spreading a message of goodwill and peace in the society everytime. National Unity Day was observed in the school to cherish the beliefs of our founding father of Republic of India, Sardar Patel, with an intend to inspire everyone, to build a better India. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Shapath was religiously taken by all, advocating the beliefs of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL in association with Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, undertook MANODARPAN, an initiative covering a wide range of activities to provide psychological support to students, teachers and families for Mental Health and Emotional Well-being during Covid-19. Adhering to the guidelines issued by the CBSE as regards MANODARPAN, the school observed a Mental Health Week from October 4th to October 10th, during which varied Online Activities such as- Story- telling by the teachers, Poster making/ Slogan Writing by the students, were organized. *COMMEMORATION OF 151st BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHATMA GANDHI* *DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL* celebrated bapu’s birthday online, a day prior, on *1st October, 2020* with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. *Gandhi Jayanti*, was celebrated by the school, by conducting online activities amidst the prevailing absurdities due to *COVID- 19*, to commemorate 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Online Poster making activity and lecture sessions by the teachers were undertaken, which were zealously attended by the students. Not only this, students themselves showcased their flamboyant spirits by participating in various articulations such as poem recitation, story narration, essay writing activity and declamations.
"CBSE EXPRESSION SERIES ON WATER CONSERVATION" Doon Public School conducted Expression Series on Water Conservation in the month of December, 2019, in which various activities such as paragraph writing, essay/story writing, article writing and painting competition were held under various class categories. The vision behind this was to promote the Board's policy on environment and water conservation and also to create awareness on this crucial issue. More than 600 students ardently participated in these undertakings thus demonstrating their flamboyant spirits.
"STORY-TELLING COMPETITION" Doon Public School organized Story Telling Competition for the classes III-XII during the month of November, 2019, under various class categories, wherein more than 600 students enthusiastically took part to promote the CBSE policy of encouraging innovative work practices along with the scheduled curriculum of the school.
"ARYABHATT GANIT CHALLENGE" Doon Public School organized Aryabhatt Ganit Challenge during the month of November, 2019, adhering to the guidelines issued by CBSE, in order to promote the ability of the children to reason logically and to present arguments in an honest an convincing way with appropriate reasoning and assumptions. Around 300 students from the classes VIII-X, zealously participated in the challenge exhibiting their exuberant spirits.
